Here are 5 tips to improve your recordings in your home studio that will get the best sound out of your gear.
Get a preamp
If you already have an interface chances are there may be a preamp installed on the unit itself but in order to get the best sounds you have to get a stand-alone preamp. This will allow for warm and rich sounds while recording.

Always use a master channel
While using ProTools it is important to monitor levels. In order to keep the levels under control, It is always a good idea to use a master track. A master track will have the sum of all the signals and their output. This is imperative to make sure that your signals are not clipping.

For about $200 you can purchase the O-Zone plug-in from isotope. This plug-in is easy to use for beginners yet deep enough to keep the audio nerds happy. There are a presets that can be used in a general sense and freedom to Just any peripheral.
Get decent monitors
Having a good pair of monitors is essential for music production. Without decent monitors, there are a lot of frequencies that will not be heard or distorted. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on monitors in order to get a decent pair, I would say around $400 for a pair is about the average price.
